Bridging the Gap Major Donor Training Workshop Now Available Online!

Many times ministry presidents, directors of development and church pastors have a difficult time relating to the challenges that wealth brings to their supporters’ lives and families. While it is easy to see the benefits of affluence, few understand the dangers and pitfalls that it creates. Understanding your supporters’ challenges and the role that GENEROSITY plays in addressing their challenges is the key to exponentially better development results.

Workshop Training Objective: Help ministries and church pastors best serve their highest capacity supporters by transforming their development efforts from an emphasis on getting something from them: (money) to a concentrated focus on giving something life-changing to them: (a deeper understanding of their wealth from a Kingdom perspective).

Session One
The Bible on Possessions and Generosity

We examine some of the hundreds of scriptures that address money, wealth, accumulating possessions, giving, inheritances, dangers of wealth, contentment, paying taxes, etc. It gives a foundational understanding of the role that money plays in God’s economy and how we often block God’s plans for its use and become barriers to God’s will instead of vehicles to carry it out.

Session Two
What on Earth am I Doing with all this Wealth?

We explore the seven key issues that wealthy Christians must understand to utilize their remaining time, employ their unique talents and strategically deploy their accumulated treasures to do the most good for the cause of Christ. These issues address stewardship, power of creativity, their aspects of wealth, misconceptions about wealth, preparing heirs for their inheritance, the Psychological Pyramid of Priorities and life-purpose.

Session Three A
Understanding Your  Most Affluent Donors

The basic concepts of stewardship apply to all Christians, but the issues change dramatically as a believer’s net worth climbs. The stewardship challenges for believers of average means no longer apply to affluent Christians. Instead, a totally new set of stewardship issues and dilemmas materialize that are every bit as daunting for affluent Christians as are basic ones for “non-affluent” believers. Here we will address the ten stewardship dilemmas your most affluent donors face.

Session Three B
Ministering to your Most Affluent Donors

We will explore who should cast the vision for the ministry and how to effectively do it, what role the CEO must play in major donor development, how to overcome the emotional obstacles of working with and meeting the needs of wealthy people, how to identify current and potential major donors and how to engage them in more than just financial support of a ministry.

Session Four
The Bottom Line Results (Case Studies)

We examine some actual case studies to show the incredible impact Family Wealth Counseling has upon an affluent Christian family’s financial capacity to give fantastically greater gifts to worthy Christian ministries to support the cause of Christ than they ever dreamed possible. This is in addition to enhancing their ability to provide an adequate inheritance for their heirs while taking care of themselves as well.
